We like to say that Strelitzia Flower Company isn’t your normal floral shop – with our own wholesale department and a large site in Davis, we proudly offer a wide variety of options for every couple. While we love to create the entire floral look for a wedding from bouquets and boutonnieres to centerpieces and floral installations, we also offer DIY and hybrid options.
Strelitzia is located in Davis, but we deliver and install weddings from Napa to Tahoe and everywhere in between. Our large staff of designers allow us to create in any style and for every size wedding. Whether you are planning an intimate elopement with a bouquet and boutonniere or a weekend long extravaganza with full service, we design every wedding with the same level of quality and care.
We believe that each wedding is as unique as the couple getting married. To help determine your exact needs and how to best maximize your budget, we offer a complimentary one hour consultation and proposal for all weddings.
From the very beginning, Strelitzia Flower Company has been a committed and active member of Yolo County. In 1971, UC Davis student Dean Labadie began selling flowers from a bucket to support his family and pay for school. That bucket became a cart and that cart a shop that has employed countless Yolo County residents over its nearly 50 year history.
Dean’s primary focus has always been to source products of the highest quality and to give customers direct access. His concept was to have beautiful flowers of every color and variety, displayed in an open market where customers could choose one stem at a time. To this day, you can visit our shop to select your own flowers, individually or by the bunch from our walk-in cooler.
After 22 years of buying from the San Francisco Flower Market, Dean and his wife Janice furthered their commitment to quality by going directly to the farmers. They hit the road to the coast, knowing that their product would be fresher. The improved quality and longevity they discovered was striking, and they have been doing their once a week, overnight coast run since 1993 and pride themselves in passing the savings on to the customer and other florists through their wholesale floral company, J&D Wholesale.
Strelitzia Flower Company remains committed to Yolo County, supporting such local charities as Meals on Wheels, Empower Yolo, Davis Arts Center, Progress Ranch, Make A Wish, Suicide Prevention, Soroptomist International, Crisis Nursery, the SPCA and CASA amongst many others.
